| SSPA 23 during the first EME operational test. Four A-meters in the right lower corner of front panel measure the DC current of each from four combined PA blocks. Four 27.5 V switching power supplies on the right are connected in parallel to deliver over 80 A. On the top of SSPA sits the driver (two BLV958 amplifiers connected in series). Flexible coaxial cable on the right provides SSPA output towards the antenna reflectometer connected on the input of rigid 1.5” TX antenna cable (outside the picture above). We measured about 1kW output at full drive of SSPA to 4x21A at 27.5V (driving power only approx.40W). |
